A simple and comforting tonic designed to soothe the lungs, made with pear, ginger, honey, and water, simmered to perfection. Optional additions include cinnamon sticks, lemon peel, and dried lemon for enhanced flavor and benefits.
Peel the pear then place it in a pot with the ginger and honey. Add enough water to cover the pear, which should be about 4 cups. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes. Serve the tonic warm, adding more honey to taste if desired. Optionally, you can add 2 sticks of cinnamon, lemon peel, and dried lemon to the pot with the other ingredients before simmering.
